:: Dinner... ::

Dinner at Pasta Mania + Gigantic Mango Smoothie that was half finished...
Finally ate our "reunion dinner" after 10 days of sailing...
Having left the office grossly late with my half finished cup of bubble tea, my pasta has never tasted better... yum yum...
Obviously the company makes a difference... :) Posted by Picasa

:: Monday Blues... ::

Went to the Regional Learning Development Centre this morning...
It was actually some general induction that I was supposed to attend quite some time ago, but as usual cos my superior din release me, it has dragged until im like not so new anymore.
Got a cup that is sitting at the bottom of my drawer cos it was too heavy to lug to school n lug home.. Anyway I doubt i will be using it much.

Just a thought...
There are so many staff joining and leaving every week.
Don't think there's such a thing as job or company loyalty in this "modern" generation.
Ppl come and go to wherever the grass is greener...
Where is my green green grass??? Posted by Picasa

:: Off to Bkk... At Changi Airport T1 ::

Awaiting Departure...
July 23 Sunday - Day 1

Went to the airport really early cos our flight was at 9.20am.
Walked around and found the check-in counter but it wasn't open yet, cos it was still too early.
Finally the counter opened and we went to check in our luggage and get our boarding passes.
Jetstar issues those fax paper boarding passes that looked like a shopping receipt, sure fade v fast.

Nothing much to eat at T1, so we took the sky train to T2 for BurgerKing brekkie. Ate quickly cos we wanted to reach to gate early in order NOT to repeat history of missing the flight.
The gate was so far away! It was right at the end of the T1 extension!
Being so early, and nothing to do except watch TV or surf free internet, I went to read up on last min travel info and Dyc read maple stuff. We're addicted to forums...

Finally boarded the plane, small small plane that was ValuAir cos its the same company anyway. Only 3 stewardess n 1 steward on the plane. My first experience taking budget airline... I got the window seat :) Posted by Picasa

Day 1 - First Stop: Chatuchak Weekend Market

The immigration took reallllllyyyy long!!!
By the time we reached the hotel and rested a little while, it was already after noon...
Quickly took the essentials and headed to the BTS station to take train to Mo Chit where JJ Market was.

When we reached the market, there were hoards of ppl and it was scorching hot!!!
Looked for some place to eat lunch and got ourselves Pahd Thai and Fried Rice that was really delicious!!! Ate our magic ice lollies, drank ice blended strawberry and some water chestnut dessert...

JJ market is just toooo big....
Luckily we just focused on a few sections cos we know that we won't be heading to the furniture and ceramics section. Bought some things there, not alot though... Only a few tops, sunglasses and a doggy bed... Left for MBK before the market closed for dinner... Posted by Picasa

Day 1: Going to MBK!

Was at Mo Chit taking the BTS to MBK shopping centre for dinner...
It was pretty windy considering that it was sweltering hot at JJ market, and look man... the number of cars are the car park!!! It stretches way longer than the photo lor... Goodness me, the number of vehicles on the road each day. No surprise why there are traffic jams everyday.

We went to Zen Japanese Restaurant for dinner cos we found it pretty nice and affordable on our last trip to BKK. I ate the tempura prawn set again!!! The prawns are fresh lor... and its sooo cheap compared to Sg! Delicious.... But if u want to eat Sashimi, u can try Fuji Jap Restaurant on the top floor of MBK... its supposed to be cheaper for raw foods but more expensive for fried foods. Posted by Picasa

Day 2 : Erawan Shrine

Took the BTS to visit Erawan Shrine, a tourist attraction.
Its actually located very near to all the major shopping areas hence we decided to visit it and pray for good health and luck. There are plenty of ppl here each day and it seems like a popular place tourists visit. You can buy the offerings at different prices, we took the cheapest one with candles and flowers and joss sticks...

We weren't really sure what to do, so monkey see monkey do.
I also read the damers post on what to do, so I tried to remember and followed suit.
Pray at each direction and put the joss sticks at each buddha, put the flowers at each "gate". The candle I just put it where I saw the most candles...
Apparently when we got home and read more abt the shrine, Females n Males are supposed to pray in clockwise and anti-clockwise directions. Oops...

The most expensive offerings were like trays of fruit and drinks, and you can also give bigger donations for dancers to ask for blessings for u...

A new cultural experience for me... Posted by Picasa

Day 2 : Shopping!!! Central World Plaza, Big C

All the big brands are here!
Gucci, LV, more more more expensive brands, the train station is actually linked to the shopping Mall...
Central World is undergoing renovation, hence we couldn't find black canyon coffee in the same spot. But Isetan is still the same and Kinokuniya is still there... Was tempted to buy Nancy Chandlers Map again but it wasn't a revised edition, so dyc discouraged me from getting it.
Hope the next time I come it will be a new edition with new places to shop!

My first time visiting Big C... Its like a gigantic carrefour supermarket with all sorts of stuff in shelves stacked really high up! Amazing... hahaha.... Posted by Picasa

:: Remains... ::

The remnants of Fisherman's Platter for 2 on a late tues afternoon...
Again, Fish n Co at Wheelock has never failed to amaze me with the absolutely terrible service they provide.
Upon arrival, at least 4 different staff noticed our presence but all ignored us and left me n dennis waiting to get a table. That wasted at least 5 mins. Then, after ordering, we waited at least 10 mins to be served our drinks. AND they got it wrong, i wanted warm water... not cold water. After waiting for a total of abt 20 mins, our platter still hadn't come and the table in front of us that arrived just 5 mins ago had already been served their platter!
Nevermind waiting so long, we asked the waitress to check on our order, and she came back and had the cheek to say that they need 20 mins on average to prepare our order! omg....

I think i'll stick to other branches that can provide decent service... Posted by Picasa
